Happiness is...

Remember being a child when joy and happiness just happened naturally? I have been thinking about that a lot lately. Maybe it's because of the times we are living in, or maybe I am just searching for something to be excited about again. Whatever the reason, I feel it is time to try to find that child-like happiness again. To me, child-like happiness comes with an ease. If you watch your kids, when they play, they always have fun, and everything seems so magical. How do we find that magic for life again?

Where is my "happy place"? One of the MANY questions I have been asking myself when thinking about how to find happiness. Honestly, I feel happiest in the salon, but it isn't a relaxing task to run a salon. Maybe the happiness comes being a cosmetologist for almost 30 years( YIKES), so it's a no-brainer for me. I feel happy at home, but then you have the stress of daily life getting in your way.

It can be hard to find the balance in our lives. One good place to start is our self-talk. We can lift ourselves up or torture our inner self with negative words. I recently started a 10 day challenge to accelerate my success given by Brad Bizjack, (it's on FB if you want to check it out). What I have learned so far is to have appreciation for the life you've been given. Why do we take the gifts in our lives for granted? Our kids, spouse, job, friends, and the list goes on. How would it look if we started to appreciate those around us?

In this journey of mine, I want to learn how to appreciate those around me, find my center, and be excited about my future. For a lot of us it is hard to be excited about life, but I am making a commitment to myself to find the happiness in everyday life again!
