💀Halloween looks to Die For 💀

Updated: Oct 27, 2021

Have you decided on your Halloween look yet? Some play it safe with a store bought costumes. But there are a lot of easy original looks out there if you know where to look.

In my search for an idea, like everyone else, I looked online. I found some great ideas on sites like Pinterest, Tik Tok, and YouTube.

My favorites have been the makeup looks. It may be my artistic side coming out, but the more intricate the design, the better I like it! I love the Mermaid looks, any kind of Fairy, the Disney characters, and the Skelton looks. So many possibilities!

If you choose to do your own design, you do not need to break the bank. Depending on the look you are trying to achieve, you may already have most of the tools at home.

For the Skelton look, you need a light base, black eye pencil, dark shadows, eye brushes and a setting spray or setting powder. You can find easy tutorials on YouTube or Pinterest to walk you through step by step.

For an easy 🧜‍♀️Mermaid look, you can use shadows in teal, purple, pink, yellow/gold, blue and green. Add a shimmer powder to give a dewy glow, add lashes and small rhinestones around the eyes for a bit of sparkle. If you want to have scales in places, I like to use a darker eye pencil in a coordinating color to create them. I shadow the area with a light, frosty color, then add the scales and dust with a shimmer or highlighter.

🧟‍♀Zombie looks are always a favorite for a creepy costume. Old clothes ripped, with some added "blood" and dirt will make it really great. You can use tea to stain the cloth to give an old worn out look. You might need to invest a little in a makeup kit to get the grey look to the skin, or some prosthetic cuts or broken "bones" technique. You can also use a light foundation with dark purple, greens, blues, black and brown shadows instead of the kits. Just play around with the combination of colors until you get the dead look you like.

What ever look you decide on, with a little research, I'm sure you will find a tutorial for the steps and products you will need for your costume. As for mine, you will have to wait for the reveal to see what I chose. I'll make sure to post pictures.

Have fun and be safe!
